The fannish people said, "Well, we like to sing,
But to this con no instruments did any of us bring.
I guess we'll just imagine all the others of our ilk,
Playing right along as we sing this filk, filk, filk."

The con organizer said, "Your music's pretty loud.
Go off into that corner there, that's all that you're allowed."
But every single instrument was playing smooth as silk,
And eventually the whole con had to listen to the filk, filk, filk.

Filk, filk is why we're going to the con,
Into the dry-air too-hot place.
Now we listen with our Zoom windows muted
Until we see each other face to face.

This song's stuck in my head; the earworm's pretty bad
The final rhyme's got two fitting choices to be had.
I'm not talking about milk right now, so here I'll repeat filk,
'Cause with only three rhymes I'm gonna come right back to filk, filk, filk.

I was expecting "All you need is filk / Filk is all you need."

That could still be done, of course. "There's nothing you can write that can't be filked..." Hmm.
