to [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith, whose Schrodinger's Heroes universe deserves a bit of extra filk and all. This one runs on the simple theory that Schrodinger the Cat may be significantly smarter than anyone gives him credit for. (I may or may not spend the summer animating the title sequence, but that's once I have a decent workspace to draw at.)
As such, a song inspired both by Schrodinger's Heroes and by the chat room in the 3/18/19 Sooj Concert Window broadcast. Tune yet unwritten, but surely exclusively to be played on stringed instruments (which I will extend to piano if it's an actual piano and not a digital keyboard):

String Theory

Well, I've a cat who loves his grass
Though in quantum physics he's top of the class.
And sure, he'll chase a bird on the wing--
But most of all, he loves his string.

My cat, he'll climb 'til he's way up high
Because he wishes to study the sky.
And sure, he'll sit in my lap purring--
But he purrs more at cosmic string.

String, string is a wonderful thing --
Shred up a carpet to the tiniest bits.
We all know cats own everything
And a unified theory requires their wits.

That colony that's down the street
Wants mice for experiments, not meat.
And sure, they want the spaghetti I bring
But they'd rather break down a length of string.

That cat up above who likes to sleep
With sun eye or moon eye open -- not a peep.
But when an eclipse shadow band does its thing--
You have to admit: it looks like string!

String, string is a wonderful thing --
Shred up a carpet to the tiniest bits.
We all know cats own everything
And a unified theory requires their wits.

Cat's out of the bag and into the box --
Wants both answers for Schrodinger once and for all.
But quantum mechanics are just building blocks
So my cat just coughs up a hairball.

String, string is a wonderful thing --
Shred up our 'verse to the tiniest bits.
We all know cats own everything
And a unified theory requires their wits!
